Situation Puzzles
The host describes a strange situation in two lines, and the rest reconstruct what actually happened with questions answered yes and no.
Rules for a thing
What differs here
Played the same way, but what has been set is not a situation: it is an object, a person, an animal or a phenomenon.
The opening
The host sets something and says only what field it was taken from: "an object in this room", "a well-known person", "something found in a forest". The narrower the field, the shorter the game.
Questions and answers
As in the main rules: questions answered yes and no, three possible answers, no limit on the number.
Here the questions work differently — they cut away attributes rather than test explanations: alive or not, bigger or smaller, found indoors or out.
End of the round
The round ends when the thing set is named.
Worth knowing
How wide the field is drawn is rarely stated, and that is what most often strands the game: "an object in this room" and "anything in the world" are different games, and usually nothing is said about which is being played.
Glossary of terms
- «Doesn't matter»
- The answer to a question that does not lead to the solution. Not «no», but «there is no reason to go that way».
- The host
- The one who knows the whole solution and answers the questions. They take no part in any score.
- The situation
- The short description the puzzle opens with. Everything in it is true, but far too little is said to see what happened.
